When young people become acquainted with their own special strengths through the joy of making music happen, their self-confidence blossoms. Welcome to The Music Teaching Project –TMTP for short. We offer young, underserved DC students the chance to learn how to play musical instruments and to perform in ensemble before an audience. Our free lessons are taught during after-school hours at partner organization sites by professional musicians -- all skilled instructors who are passionate about sharing their love of music with young people. We offer students an enriching experience of music making and enjoyment that will last a lifetime.
