Our mission at TMTP is to provide a life enriching musical experience to our youth by providing instruments and teachers. The music lesson program is open to those students of the district who want to learn to play, and who show the commitment necessary to learn.
With guidance from the instructor, students will be assigned one of the following instruments: trumpet, trombone, alto sax, flute or clarinet. Instructors will make the determination as to the instrument the student will play based on timbre preference, and instrument availability.
There will also be performance opportunities!
Fee: An instrument fee of $30 (non-refundable) for the fall session is required. The instrument remains the property of TMTP, and is to be used only for home practice and lessons.
Conduct and Commitment
With the submission of this application you agree to the following terms designed to create a positive learning environment in which studying music, although lots of fun, is taken seriously:
- Students must commit to the 1 ½-hour lesson each week.
- Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from lessons.
- Students must keep their instruments in good working condition.
- Disruptive behavior will be grounds for dismissal from the program at the instructor’s discretion. At which time the instrument must be turned in.
- Students must practice at least 5 days per week for 45 minutes each day.
As space is limited we cannot guarantee that each applicant will be offered a place in this semester’s program. However, we will add additional classes as our program expands. We look forward to an exciting semester full of high-notes!
